"Swing Racquet + Paddle will be built on 45 acres in the Brier Creek area. It's going to have nearly 100 courts for tennis, pickleball, paddle and table tennis. After some pandemic-related delays, developers are looking forward to breaking ground on the $70 million project," the  Spectrum News says.

"Swing's director of design, JJ Kazynski says the facility is a mix of the hospitality industry and sports, with retail, food and courts. A 2022 report from the Sports and Fitness Industry Association says pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America, with 4.8 million players nationwide.

"Developers say there will be areas of Swing that are completely accessible to the public. The courts will be based on a pay-to-play model and a reservation system. And staff is also going to offer some kind of membership plan. The facility is expected to bring in one million visitors every year."

"The developers are calling it “the Disney World for Racquet Sports.” The Swing Racquet & Paddle complex will be the world’s largest facility, and it’s going to make Raleigh its home," the CBS17.com says.

"Specifically, the plan is for the complex to have 29 tennis courts (including clay and hard), 24 pickleball courts, 16 paddle courts, 12 ping pong tables and four beach tennis/volleyball courts.

"There will also be a restaurant and bar, an international training academy and access to the nearby Greenway trail. The goal is for Swing Racquet & Paddle to be a place for people to come together."

"About a half-dozen of the key staff at Swing Racquet + Paddle, soon to be the world’s largest racket sports facility, was seated around a conference table at a Raleigh co-working space in May explaining their vision. The co-working space and its whiteboard is where Rob Autry, Swing’s founder and CEO, and Jason DeGroff, Swing’s president and managing partner, spent most of the pandemic," the Sports Business Journal says.

"When Swing opens in early 2025, its 45-acre campus located almost equidistant from the centers of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, and 10 minutes from the planned Apple East Coast campus, will contain 80 total courts for tennis, pickleball, padel, table tennis, and even beach tennis. Swing will be the most extensive example of the racket and paddle sports facility development boom that is underway in the U.S. and trying to keep pace with the sports’ explosive growth.

"Amateur pickleball is the main catalyst behind the development surge; governing body USA Pickleball is aware of more than $200 million worth of projects in development, equating to roughly 4,000 new courts that will open in the next year. The Sports Fitness Industry Association reported nine million pickleball players in 2022, double the number from the year before (and a number that many argue is low)."

"Raleigh owns the property, and Swing will pay $275,000 in annual rent with a 3% increase each year. That will generate $20 million over 50 years for the city in rent payments," the AOL.com says.

"Officials with the racquet sports facility also agreed to provide an annual grant to the Raleigh Youth Council; commitments to free community events at the facility and offsite; scholarships to Raleigh youth and families to play at the facility; and employment opportunities through city programs.

"This facility is expected to draw significant tennis and racquet tournaments and events, and bring 1 million visitors to the facility each year."

"A Disney World for racquet sports. That’s the concept behind Swing Racquet + Paddle. Tennis, pickleball, padel, ping pong and beach tennis all combined in an immersive first-of-its-kind multi-sport “Sportstainment” amusement park. With food, beverage, games and technology aimed at younger audiences, the venues are designed to provide easy access and drive interest in the sports," the Tennis.com says.

"Swing’s flagship location will be a sprawling 45-acre campus in Raleigh, N.C., set to break ground in June of 2023, and open to the public by late 2024. With 70 combined tennis, pickleball and padel courts, it will be the largest multi-racquet facility in the world. Over the subsequent four years, four more locations with smaller footprints designed to house 24 courts are planned throughout the Sun Belt. After assessing operations for a year, the strategy is to then roll out 8-10 more per year with the goal of 59 locations over the next 10 years.

"With eatertainment—combining food/drink with other activities—becoming increasingly popular, Swing will have a restaurant but wants to put sports first. Whether hosting leagues and tournaments, running clinics for newcomers, or simply as an outlet for some exercise, they hope to draw people together through a common connection. Each location will offer standard memberships, but also keep plenty of inventory reserved for the walk-up and play customer."

"Swing's first flagship location is a 45-acre campus headquartered in Raleigh, N.C. that will break ground in 2023 and open to the public in late 2024," the official Press Release says.

"The Swing campus will serve up tennis, pickleball, padel, table tennis, and beach tennis courts adjacent to retail and an innovative food and beverage experience.

"Swing Racquet + Paddle, led by entrepreneur Rob Autry and business partner Jason DeGroff, is the first multi-racquet + paddle Sportstainment facility designed to scale nationwide and will feature a 45-acre flagship campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. Swing addresses an unmet need in the racquet sports space through a first of its kind Sportstainment experience. The flagship location, slated for completion in late 2024, will be the largest, multi-racquet sports facility in the world."
