"This Amish Man, aka The Big Man, stood in front of Shirey's Car Sales. The statue appeared to have been the work of Rod Shutt. This 20-foot-tall fiberglass statue was originally installed at a Dempsey's Diner in New Castle, DE," the RoadArch.com says.

"When Dempsey's began installing Dutch Boy statues, this statue wound up at Perry's Pantry in Dover, DE. Perry's was later known as the Country Pantry. In 2000, the statue was moved to Shirey's Car Sales. In 2003, it was knocked over by a hurricane. It was then repaired and reinstalled.

"The statue's shirt was later painted blue. In 2007, the statue was taken down and put into storage in Dover. In 2011, it was reinstalled at Shirey's Dover location. In 2013, the statue was moved back to Shirey's Milford location. In 2016, the statue was donated to the owner of Xtreme Graphix who used to work at Shirey's. In 2017, the statue was repainted in the original red and black color scheme and is now installed in front of Extreme Graphix."

"Paradoxically, a Giant Amish man is promoting a design shop in Milford, DE. Wearing the traditional hat and suspenders, this Anabaptist is a tribute to the Amish who still live near Milford, DE - but whose population is slowly shrinking.

"This 20-foot-tall giant Amish man statue has worn many hats over the years, so to speak. He has stood outside of a pancake house, then a used car lot, all the while wearing his actual wide-brimmed hat and suspenders," the Silly America says.

"Now the 400-pound fiberglass landmark lives in front of a graphics studio."

"The 20-foot-tall fiberglass statue, also known as “the Big Man,” is cited as the work of Rod Shutt and previously was located in Pennsylvania before being installed at Dempsey’s Diner in New Castle," the Delaware Online says.

"Through the years, the Big Man has been placed at a Dutch restaurant in Dover, Shirey’s Car Sales in Milford, and at the car sale’s Dover location after being removed from storage, and back to Shirey’s Milford site in 2016. During that time, the statue was once knocked over by hurricane remnants in 2003 and later had its shirt painted blue.

"In 2016, the statue was donated to the owner of Xtreme Graphix, a graphic design studio, who used to work at Shirey’s. A year later, the Amish man was repainted in red and black, the original color scheme."

"The Amish Man Statue is one of the state's strangest roadside attractions. It stands in a parking lot near a novelty store in Heidelberg Township. Both statues are ten feet high," the PhillyBite Magazine says.

"King bought them in February for $5,000. King lives just up the road. He plans to restore them and put them on display again. The statues are a great reminder of the Amish community and its way of life.

"The Amish Man Statue is located in New Castle County, Delaware. It is one of Delaware's strangest roadside attractions. The statue is located about a half-mile from the state's major highway and is an excellent stop for road trips. Other oddities include Miles the Monster, the world's largest stone Monster, a big doctor's bag, and a fountain of youth."
