"Carved into the hills of Georgetown, Wolf Ranch is your very own Hill Country oasis hidden alongside the scenic San Gabriel River. Minutes from everything, this modern sanctuary is a careful blend of escape and adventure," the official website says.

"Wolf Ranch, a master planned community in Georgetown, TX, has expanded its breathtaking Hilltop views to the rugged shoreline of the river's South Fork and soon beyond to the West Bend. Whether you're searching for the great outdoors or just a view of it, Wolf Ranch is a place to make your own."

"Wolf Ranch is a community of one hundred 3D printed homes in Georgetown, Texas, built by Lennar and ICON. The houses use a proprietary material called Lavacrete, which is more eco-friendly than traditional Portland cement.

"The floors, walls, and openings (for utilities and windows) in each house are printed completely autonomously. All of the homes are single-level ranch houses. These homes save significant amounts of material and have been proposed as a solution to the ongoing housing crisis in the US.

"The houses take 4-6 weeks to build, compared to 6-8 months for wood-frame construction. They are resistant to wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and insect invasions. They also provide good thermal insulation, thereby saving energy, especially in the hot climate of Texas." (Wikipedia)

"Developers in Georgetown, Texas are using robot 3D-printing technology to fight the housing shortage, creating the world’s largest 3D-printed neighborhood. Called Wolf Ranch, the community of three- and four-bedroom homes is located approximately 30 miles north of Austin," the Forbes says.

"The walls of the homes are “printed” using a concrete material, called Lavacrete, applied via 46-foot wide robotic printers. Developed by Dallas-based Hillwood Communities, the 100-home collection is a joint venture between homebuilder Lennar, a Danish architecture practice known as BIG, and Texas construction firm, ICON."

"Just outside Austin, in Georgetown, Texas, brand new planned communities sprawl out as far as the eye can see, which is pretty far in this part of the country. But one small subdivision instantly draws focus. Just completed, it is now the world’s largest 3D-printed community," the CNBC says.

"Two years ago, Lennar, the nation’s second-largest homebuilder, partnered with Icon, a 3D technology company, to print 100 homes in the Wolf Ranch development. The companies say about 75% of them have already sold.

"All the walls have rounded edges, as that’s how the printers navigate with the concrete. The layering process makes it feel like hard, wide-wale corduroy. The roofing is the only part of the structures not 3D-printed, and, in this community, is made of metal. Each home is solar-powered."

"ICON began printing the walls of what it says is the world's largest 3D-printed community in November 2022. Compared to traditional construction, the company says that 3D printing homes is faster, less expensive, requires fewer workers, and minimizes construction material waste," the Reuters says.

"After concrete powder, water, sand and other additives are mixed together and pumped into the printer, a nozzle squeezes out the concrete mixture like toothpaste onto a brush, building up layer by layer along a pre-programmed path that creates corduroy-effect walls.

"The single-story three- to four-bedroom homes take about three weeks to finish printing, with the foundation and metal roofs installed traditionally."

"Dozens of 3D-printed homes have been built across the world – to house a family in the US state of Virginia or members of an impoverished community in rural Mexico. The world’s largest 3D-printed neighborhood is currently under construction outside of Austin, Texas," the CNN reports.

"The technology could be especially handy in a place like the US state of Maine, where approximately 80,000 new homes will be needed by 2030 to address a shortage, according to a report released last year by three state agencies.

"The new printer can produce objects as large as 96 feet long by 32 feet wide by 18 feet high and can print up to 500 pounds per hour. Dagher says that the goal is to be able to print 1,000 pounds of material in an hour. At that rate, it could reproduce the BioHome3D in 48 hours, he says."

"Like other 3D printers, the Vulcan printer puts down layer by layer of materials to build an object. However, this printer is more than 13.7 meters wide and prints homes for people to live in," the VOA - Voice of America says.

"This summer, the robotic printer from the homebuilder ICON will complete the last of the 100 3D-printed houses in Wolf Ranch, a community about 48 kilometers from Austin, Texas. ICON began printing the walls of what it says is the world's largest 3D-printed community in November 2022.

"After concrete powder, water, sand and other additives are mixed together and put into the printer, a device called a nozzle releases the concrete mixture. The process looks like toothpaste being put onto a toothbrush, as the printer builds up the house layer by layer along an exact path."

"An ambitious development of a hundred homes named Wolf Ranch looks set to become a major step forward in 3D-printed construction going mainstream in the United States. Located near Austin, Texas, the project's first model home has now been revealed ahead of the first batch of residents arriving in September," the New Atlas says,

"Described as the largest-scale development of 3D-printed homes in the world, Wolf Ranch is being built by Lennar and Icon, and is co-designed by high-profile architecture firm the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). The project is part of a larger development by Hillwood Communities Development that will also contain traditionally built homes.

"The 100 3D-printed houses range from 1,500 - 2,100 sq ft (roughly 140 - 195 sq m), all on one floor. They come in eight different floorplans and offer either three or four bedrooms and two or three bathrooms. Their overall design is inspired by traditional Texas ranches."
