World Record Registration

When do I have to register my record attempt?
As soon as possible, once you have a good idea about your project. Recommended time frame:
  • personal record attempts: 1-3 months in advance;
  • corporate events: 2-6 months in advance;
  • round-the-world attempts: 3-6 months in advance
Where can I submit my record attempt for approval?
Check our Services section and  go to our World Record Registration form.

Do I need to get pre-approval of a World Record idea, or should I go ahead and fill out the application online for approval?
If you intend to set a record in the near future, use the '
world record registration form' .

How long it takes to get an answer?
Usually it takes no more than 3 working days, if you submitted ALL the requested information.

Do I have to register in advance my record attempt? Can't I just simply do it 'on my own' and contact you later?
If you are SERIOUS about your record attempt, you MUST comply to our basic rules. Obviously, you can't just claim to have a record attempt, if you don't have a written permission from us, follow our rules, etc.

I have registered with another organization, but I want my attempt to be recognized by you, too; is this possible?
We strongly recommend you to register with us FIRST, simply because there are many FAKE organizations who may lure you about being 'official', 'world authority' 'the world's whatever' but they simply sent you a piece of paper based on...(almost) nothing! If they push/suggest you to 'invite' them (at huge costs) to 'verify' your claim (instead of using the LOCAL metrology and notaries, accountants, etc), that's a scam, maybe a very popular one, but still...

How can I make the difference between a REAL world record (certifying organization) and a 'novelty' (aka FAKE) world record?
1) The price: if they SELL world record certificates (to anybody) for peanuts (paper is cheap and if you don't ask people to comply with basic rules, you have a 90% profit anyway); if you buy a Louis Vuitton bag, a Rolex watch or a 'doctorate' title for $20 it's a FAKE simply because it's too cheap to be the REAL thing!

2) Measuring: the only legal-valid is the Legal metrology; anything less can not stand in the Court and is almost dangerous for companies! (somebody with a REAL record may suit you for false claims, like it happened in the past!)

3) (Fake) Adjudicators: if somebody is offering you to send (for a huge price) a 'judge' or a (fake) 'adjudicator', you can ask you lawyer FIRST:
a) WHO has the right to certify a fact in your country?
b) their 'measurement', 'verification' or 'certification' is legal valid?  In most countries it's not even legal to pretend you 'adjudicate' anything unless you are a lawyer, but some people still do this (for their profit, not yours!).
c) are 'they' known for changing the rules during the game, recognizing new (fake) records even other claim having records from the same organization? Check the web for horror stories before spending your hard earned cash on fake services!
d) does this organization have a history of integrity or they allowed ANYBODY to make fake claims in the past? (A NY based popular website / 'organization' let their first 30,000 members to submit & publish ANYTHING and be a 'record holder' in their first few years of 'activity'! What is the real value of these records?!
e) when somebody is offering you (for a huge price) to send on-site an 'adjudicator' ask them few simple questions: What is 'adjudicator's' background (CV)? is him/she a specialist in this field, with a degree (in sport, etc) in it? Will your record be official and LEGAL-valid?

How much it cost to have a world record verified & certified?
We do have a onetime flat fee for each record's category.

Can I pay a fee for a fast track processing?
You can ask for a fast track processing during your registration.

Are there any other (hidden) fees?
NO; (unlike others) we don't have 'adjudication' fees, travel fees, etc. We charge a one-time fee and that's it.

Where can I get an accountant or a surveyor or a lawyer for my record attempt?
Please visit our Resources section for a link to their respective professional organization which can assist you.

Do I have to pay an additional fee for the world record certificate?
NO. Once you paid for the verification & certification fee, that's all. The world record certificate is FREE (Air mail shipping, too)!

Why don't you offer a FREE world record certification service, like others do (or at least this is what they claim)?
