Cal Mees said: "I am a lifetime hockey player, I started playing ice hockey when I was 6 years old in Bismarck, North Dakota. At age 61, I love playing hockey even more now than when I was a kid. As a member of the Dallas Warriors disabled veterans hockey team, I work with the team to create awareness and support for the team and its individual military veteran members.

"My motivation for setting the World Record for the “most consecutive ice hockey games played by an individual” came out of my love for the sport of ice hockey , the countless incredible memories and camaraderie of friends it has created for me, and my desire to create more awareness for my veteran brothers on my Dallas Warriors disabled veterans hockey team.

"Although it was a lot of work to set up and the event was tiring, I had the time of my life achieving this World Record."

"ICE at The Parks was honored to be part of US Standard Hemp’s 24-hour Ice Hockey Tournament on May 15th & 16th, 2021. This tournament showcased the World Record attempt and successful completion by Cal Mees for the “most consecutive ice hockey games played by an individual”.

" Cal Mees is recognized as a dedicated local adult hockey player and Disabled Veteran who has played at ICE at The Parks in Arlington, TX and many other surrounding area DFW ice hockey rinks for many, many years. Through his unparalleled dedication to ice hockey and his pure love of the game he has helped organize countless teams in the DFW area and was a key component in making our inaugural 24- hour hockey tournament in September, 2019 a success.

" After participating in 27 ice hockey games in our 1st 24-hour hockey tournament in 2019 , the idea came to Cal that there could be a world record for playing all of these games. It was through his never-ending tenacity that he was able to make his dream into a successful reality and has become an inspiration to have fun and go for your dreams.
