NEW YORK CITY, New York, United States--Tiffany & Co. has partnered with the estate of beloved 1980s artist Jean-Michel Basquiat to create a four-foot tall white oak cabinet adorned with the late artist’s Equals Pi painting; the advent calendar is packed with 24 different Tiffany Blue gifts; priced at U$ 150,000 it sets the world record for the Most expensive advent calendar commercially available, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"The mammoth calendar is packed with 24 different Tiffany Blue gifts and, although the label has yet to reveal what is stored in each of the compartments, the 2019 calendar gives customers a sense of the scope, as included pieces like the 18k Gold Triple Drop Earrings ($4,600 USD) and a Sterling Silver Harmonica ($695 USD)," the CR Fashion Book reports.

"The 2021 advent calendar is available on Tiffany & Co.’s web store and, along with its the launch, the brand will be donating $250,000 from the proceeds to Free Arts NYC, a local organization that empowers youth from underprivileged communities through various mentoring and art programs to develop their creativity and confidence," says the CR Fashion Book.

"The priciest Advent calendar on the market is probably the new $150,000 Tiffany version, a four-foot-tall cabinet with a reproduction of the Jean-Michel Basquiat painting from Tiffany’s recent “Equals Pi” ad campaign on the front and 24 gifts inside," the New York Times reports.

The Countdown Is On

"Crafted by hand from white oak in New York, the doors of the four-foot Advent Calendar open to reveal Blue Boxes with custom-numbered hangtags," Tifanny says in the calendar's page.

"For those unfamiliar, advent calendars are used to count down the days till Christmas — with each day unraveling a new gift. Standing at 4-feet tall, the calendar is slightly larger than last year’s iteration. The white oak cabinet is constructed in New York and opens to Basquiat’s artwork, which conceals 24 individually wrapped Tiffany Blue presents," the Hype Beast reports.

Each of the calendars is numbered and retail for $150,000 USD. The luxury jeweler will donate $250,000 USD from the proceeds to Free Arts NYC — a nonprofit organization that provides art and guidance to underserved communities.
