BUCHAREST, Romania -- Prof. Dr. Academician Alexandru Pesamosca (14 March 1930 in Constanţa, Romania – 1 September 2011 in Bucharest, Romania),also known as “The Angel of Children” , also kown as "Father Pesi" , was a Romanian surgeon and pediatrician, medic at the Marie Sklodovska-Curie (former Budimex) Hospital in Bucharest, Romania, who was the leading surgeon of over 40,000 medical operations on children at this hospital, other medical facilities in Romania and outside the country (United States, France, Italy, China), thus setting the world record for the Most Pediatric Surgeries Performed , according to the Academy Of World Records.

Since 1984, he has not left the Marie Curie Children's Hospital: he was working there, living there, TV Antena 1reports.

Simply enough, he had never had time to deal with him, to cry his two sons who died before him, to take a house.

So the hospital became his home, and the job, a way of life. He became a teacher and, to the end of his career, an academician.

He was the patron of the Cuviosul Stelian and Sfântul Nicolae-Brâncoveanu Church built in the backyard of the hospital. In the summer of 2011 he was hospitalized in the Floreasca Hospital for cardiac and renal problems. He died there on 1 September 2011, aged 81.

Pesamosca, a giant of Romanian medicine, was forced to retire. He had been immobilized in bed for several years. He had not left the Marie Curie hospital since 1984. Given that he never had time to see to his needs and buy himself a house, he was allowed to live in the hospital, The Bucharest Herald reports.

He worked in that hospital for 60 years, helping tens of thousands of children in severe condition to live a normal life. Although he was the most valuable pediatrics surgeon, material goods were not a concern for him.

He received bags of letters from former patients. Many invited him to go to live with them. Slowly, slowly his health deteriorated. The locomotory problems did not allow him to leave the small, taped space with memories. Then the teacher arrived at another hospital, as a patient this time.

Although he was the most valuable surgeon physician in Romania, the material values are the last thing he thought about.

"I have nothing but this house is my wealth, I have a house where my wife and children lived. I can not even go into the house, since everybody else died, " the professor said.
