Most patients non-surgically treated for their spinal conditions: Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine sets world record
SEOUL, South Korea--The Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine treated 1,001,554 patients with spinal conditions with its “Jaseng non-surgical and alternative treatment method” from June 1999 through May 2015, thus setting the new world record for the Most patients non-surgically treated for their spinal conditions, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

In age groups, patients in their 30’s occupied the largest portion by 29% (290,892 pax), followed by 40’s (20%), 50’s (17%) and 20’s (16%).

“We, Jaseng Medical Foundation and Jaseng Hospital, will continue our efforts to provide better oriental treatments for patients,” said Dr. Shin Joon-Shik.

“With this record title as a momentum to promote the excellence of our treatment technology, Jaseng Hospital will strengthen our relationship of trust with patients and continue our efforts to become a specialized hospital for spinal disorders,” said an official from Jaseng Hospital.

Dr. Shin Joon-Shik, the seventh generation in the family business of Korean Medicine became committed to treating spinal disorders after seeing his father suffering from a spinal tuberculosis. While studying Oriental Medicine at Kyunghee University, Dr. Shin organized a study group ‘Jaseng Medical Club’ to research and study a non-surgical treatment for spinal disorders.

With the development of MST (Motion Style Treatment) which usually takes about 20 minutes to help patients be able to walk and ‘Chungpa-jeon’ a medicine prescribed for intervertebral disctreatment, Dr. Shin began treating patients in 1988 at the hospital he had inherited from his father. As his patients’ condition improved, he became convinced that spinal disorders could be treated non-surgically with the help of the medicine and MST.

In 1990, Dr. Shin opened ‘Jaseng Oriental Medicine Clinic,’ the first ever oriental medicine clinic that treats the disc without surgery. As the clinic became prominent with more than 150 patients per day from all over the country, Dr. Shin expanded the clinic to ‘Jaseng Hospital of Oriental Medicine’ with inpatient wards to accommodate patients with severe conditions in 1999.
