"The BBQ Fest on the Neuse in Kinston now holds the Guinness World Record for the Most BBQ Sandwiches Sold in 8 Hours!

Just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday, thousands of attendees, hog cooking participants, and others were told that 4,775 sandwiches were sold in the 8 hours, setting the new world record," the WITN reports.

"“We enjoy cooking barbecue,” Mike Perkins from Wayne County said. “We’ve done it for years at our local volunteer fire department, and we just decided ‘hey lets try a competition,’ so me and a couple of other guys we decided to come out and try our luck last year and we enjoyed it, and we’ve done I think three competitions so far.”

"The most pulled pork sandwiches sold in 8 hours is 6,215, and was achieved by Golden Rule BBQ (USA) in Irondale, Alabama, USA on 9 August 2025." the Guinness World Records says.

Alabama overnore officially proclaimed August 9 as Golden Rule BBQ & Grill Day, recognizing the restaurant as one of Alabama’s oldest continuously operating eateries, founded in 1891. The celebration featured live music, family-friendly activities, giveaways, and 95¢ sandwiches, with a limit of 10 per customer."
