"I flew halfway across the country and then drove another five hours to Keystone, South Dakota, to see the world's tallest wooden Bigfoot statue that, once all dimensions are taken into account, is probably the world's largest bigfoot statue in general," the Odd Things I've Seen says.

"It's right in the shadow of Mount Rushmore, and you can hear all about my visit to it, as well as my visit to a massive Thunderbird statue in Bismarck, North Dakota, in a special on-location episode of Odd Things I've Seen: The Podcast called Cryptid Kaiju of the Dakotas."

"Located in Keystone, the world's largest Sasquatch is just that - a 23-foot-tall behemoth of a carving! Created by the insanely talented Dahl's Chainsaw Art, this eye-catching, easy-to-spot statue was the work of Jarrett Dahl and his crew, who carved the giant with chainsaws and ponderosa pine, cedar, and cottonwood," the Only In Your State says.

"Crafted in a matter of months, Sasquatch (or Big Foot) has been an area favorite since he first made his appearance in late 2020, so much so that Keystone threw a commemorative "Big Foot Bash" to unveil the statue.

"When you visit Sasquatch and the rest of the gang at Dahl's Chainsaw Art, be sure to bring your camera, as there are tons of one-of-a-kind photo opportunities."

"Affectionately named “Billie” and carved on site, the wooden carving is about 23 feet tall from its seated position to the top of its head," the Custer Country Chronicle says.

"As for its weight, carver Jarret Dahl estimates it might be as much as 30,000 pounds. “I’m just throwing a number out there,” he said. “It could be even more than that.”

"The carving took about eight days to complete. Dahl enlisted his own crew as well as a crew of guys from Kentucky. The sculpture may be the largest wooden Bigfoot, and Dahl hopes to get the Guinness Book Of World Records out to see if that’s the case."

"Did you know that the world’s largest Bigfoot, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, is found in South Dakota? How he came to be a resident is no mystery," the Atlas Obscura says.

"Jarrett receives multiple commissioned pieces a year. When he was hired to do an eight-foot-tall Bigfoot, he was thrilled with the challenge. Next came a 12-foot Sasquatch. A local guide, Richard, introduced the brothers to Keystone, a busy tourist town not far from Sturgis, Mt. Rushmore, and Deadwood.

"The artists spent a month creating a 23-foot tall depiction of a sitting Sasquatch who holds a flagpole in his hand that measures 54 feet tall, the height he’d be if he were standing. This gentle giant catches the attention of people driving through Keystone."

"Jarrett and Jordan Dahl are award-winning, internationally recognized chainsaw artists who use the backdrop of the beautiful Black Hills to create their chainsaw carvings. These original pieces of chainsaw art are completed from Black Hills (ponderosa) pine and other local woods, which adds to their uniqueness. No piece of art is identical to the other and each brother has their own style," the official website says.

"Subjects can vary from Bigfoot to the famous Freedom Eagles, custom pieces, and even a 36,000-pound archway. The brothers have developed their craft into a successful career; originally, setting up shop in Keystone, SD just two miles from Mount Rushmore. The two have expanded their business to Hill City, SD and Deadwood, SD. You can find their pieces all over the United States and have become a must-see tourist attraction."

"He has been the hide & seek champion for centuries, but now the elusive Sasquatch is larger than life and can be found right in the middle of Keystone, South Dakota," the PoppinUpUSA.com says.

"Completed in just 8 days by a crew of wood artists from South Dakota and Kentucky, “Billie” Bigfoot measures 22.8 feet from his seated position to the top of his head.

"He is made of ponderosa pine, cedar, and cottonwood and now calls Dahl’s Chainsaw Art home. His official measurements were taken during the Bigfoot Bash on December 19, 2020 when he was officially introduced to the city."

"If you're driving through Keystone, maybe on the way to Mt Rushmore, it's hard to miss Jarrett and his team. The sculpture garden is on the side of the road in Keystone with numerous wooden sculptures, including the World's Largest Bigfoot!" the Black Hills of South Dakota says.

"Visitors are welcome to wander through the carvings (some are award-winning), take photos and maybe catch one of their live demos. One of his favorite creatures to create are eagles - you'll discover many of those in various poses.

"He has also had the opportunity to perform live carving shows in the Minnesota State Fair, and competed in multiple carving competitions across the country."
