World’s Largest Bourbon Pour Sculpture: world record in Lebanon, Kentucky

Lebanon, Kentucky, United States--The city of Lebanon, Kentucky, United States, added a mural to its 135-foot water tower to make it look like a giant Maker’s Mark pour; the expense for the mural was paid by the Lebanon tourism commission and the famed mural artist Eric Henn was hired to create the mural, which sets the world record for being the World’s Largest Bourbon Pour Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"The city of Lebanon just down the road from the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky is adding a mural to its 135-foot water tower to make it look like the world’s largest Maker’s Mark pour. The artwork will highlight the nearby distillery, the biggest tourist attraction in the area. City leaders believe the attraction will draw more Kentucky Bourbon Trail tourists to their downtown," the Distillery Trail says

"According to the Lebanon Enterprise, the cost for the entire project including paint, labor, and the artwork will be approximately $53,300. The expense for the mural will be paid by the Lebanon tourism commission. Famed mural artist Eric Henn was hired to create the mural. Eric has been creating large-scale murals for more than 21 years. Many of his works are featured at aquariums, zoos and theme parks all over the country.

"After the painting is completed 10,000 tourists from the nearby distillery are expected to stop by to help hand dip the tower into the community’s swimming pool that will be filled with 2,000 gallons of molten red wax before the tower is set into permanent concrete footings. Don’t look for champagne at this christening, this baby will be christened with the finest bottle of Maker’s Mark you have ever seen!"

"The water tower, at one of the major entrances to Lebanon and Marion County, tells the world that world-recognized Maker’s Mark is, indeed, in Marion County. The world famous distillery is near Loretto, and welcomes thousands of visitors each year. The water tower, which can be seen as visitors enter Lebanon from KY 55, is rapidly becoming a landmark on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, and is drawing nationwide recognition," the Visit Lebanon Kentucky says.

"The mural, by nationally recognized artist and mural specialist Eric Henn of Ohio, turns the 135-foot water tower into the world’s largest bourbon pour. And a Maker’s Mark bourbon pour, at that, since the tower looks like a gigantic bottle, complete with signature red wax.

"The tower is complete with a “selfie” photo station, which you’ll easily find, along with plenty of parking. And the tower has specialty lighting, to make it shine at night."

"That oddly specific dream can soon be realized in Lebanon, Kentucky - where officials are turning the city's water tower into a Kentucky Bourbon Trail photo op art piece that will picture a Maker's Mark bottle pouring amber-colored liquid down the tower's 135-foot length," The Courier-Journal says.

"The Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission hired artist Eric Henn to paint the mural, which should be completed in four to six weeks. Henn is an internationally recognized artist who has created large-scale murals for more than 25 years.

"“The water tower will be so unique that visitors will go home and remember ‘that water tower’ in Lebanon, Kentucky,” tourism commission executive director Nena Olivier said in a press release. “One thing that I always think of when I think of Versailles and Florence in Kentucky is their water towers. They are iconic images associated with those cities, and our goal is to promote a similar type of thinking with Lebanon.”
