"Our stop in Dundee allowed us to visit outdoor retailer Cabela’s, where we checked out the World’s Largest Bronze Wildlife Sculpture 'Fierce Encounter' in front of the store. This 24 foot tall sculpture depicts two bears engaged in battle, with moose antlers below them. It was sculpted by Michael Hamby. (Travel the Mitten)

"The statue is set on a nice wide base that helps make it a popular spot for photos. Inside the store you’ll find everything you could possibly need for your next hunting trip, fishing trip, or outdoor adventure. With more than 225,000 square feet the store has gear and apparel as well as a large aquarium featuring local fish and several taxidermy exhibits showcasing animals from Michigan as well as those from all around the world."

"After a career-ending injury in 1989, Michael went back to his first natural born talent, his artwork. He has received commissioned sculpture projects from Merrill Lynch, USA Today, Baseball Weekly, the National Wildlife Research Center in Fort Collins, CO, the Buffalo Naval Park, and the National Football Hall of Fame.

"Born and raised in Utah, Mike has always had a fascination for Native American culture, wildlife, and the history that shaped the land that surrounded him, which he strives to incorporate into his art. Today, Hamby says, "All my intensity and energy goes into my art now . . . I've found what I love to do." (official website)

"Right off the highway, you don't have to go in, and there's a garbage can on one side that's perfect for propping up a camera for self-timed pictures!"

"It's worth the climb to get your photo taken with these guys. If you're into taxidermy, go into the establishment and check out all the mounts."

"Worth going to if you're in town. Climb up to the statue itself, and you'll see that there's another animal there besides (or should I say under?) the two bears. Cabela's is a cool store too." (Roadside America)
