World's Largest Hex Nut Sculpture: Green Bay, Wisconsin, sets world record

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin, United States--Packer Fastener commissioned Robinson Metal of De Pere, to produce a hex nut large enough to display in front of Packer's headquarters located on the north side of Lombardi Avenue and east of Highway 32/South Ashland Avenue; the giant hex nut stands 10 feet tall and weighs 3.5 tons, setting the world record for being the World's Largest Hex Nut Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

The Green Bay company has made good on its slogan, "We have the biggest nuts (and bolts) in town."



"It's an attraction we can call our own. It fits who we are," said Arlyn Rosenow, sales manager for the threaded fastener distributor.

"The owner got the idea from the Packers' 50-foot replica of the Lombardi Trophy in its atrium. And, the business is at the end of Lombardi Ave. - you can see the scoreboard at Lambeau Field from the net,"the buddroadtrips.com reports.

"Neil VanLanen, the operations manager at Robinson, said it took the company's employees about five weeks to fabricate the 10-plus-foot, threaded hex nut from 3.5 tons of steel. It's hollow and mounted on a standard steel platform, the Green Bay Press Gazette reports.


"Albrecht said he hopes Greater Green Bay residents embrace and enjoy the company's contribution to the landscape.

"Our hope is to make it our own little landmark in the city," he said. "We think it'll be a good photo opportunity."
