World's largest paint can: Shippensburg's giant Benjamin Moore paint can sets world record

Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, United States--The giant paint can near Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, United States, adjacent to a Benjamin Moore Paint store (A & A Decorative Design & Supplies Inc), is 35 feet tall and it could hold over 178,000 gallons of paint, setting the world record for being the World's Largest Paint Can, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"The paint can has been a water storage tank for years but wasn’t transformed into a paint can until the location was purchased by the current owners, the Travel Inspired Living reports.

"The can, which is easily visible from the highway but also can be easily seen from the side road, is 35 feet tall and is said to be the largest can of paint in the world. It is located adjacent to a Benjamin Moore Paint store and is painted to look like a can of their paint," the Uncovering PA reports.

"Fun fact: If the giant paint can is 35 feet tall and has the same dimensions as a normal can of paint, it could hold over 178,000 gallons of paint!"

"Originally the structure was a water tower from the previous owner. When the Benjamain Moore paint company purchased the property they decided to use the eyesore as a brilliant marketing tool,"the Doggo Bloggo reports.
