World's Smallest Dog, world record in Orlando, Florida

Orlando, Florida, United States--Pearl, a female Chihuahua born in Florida, (owner Vanesa Semler) is measuring just 3.59 inches (9.14 cm) tall from the ground to her withers, setting the new world record for the World's Smallest Living Dog (Height), according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

The certified measurement was performed at Crystal Creek Animal Hospital in Kissimmee by Dr. Giovanni Vergel, DVM, following all official measurement protocols.

"She is the niece of Miracle Milly, the previous shortest dog, and is also owned by the same family. Pearl loves wearing clothes and often chooses her own outfits. She enjoys being in front of cameras and can be quite demanding, a trait her owner compares to being a little "diva".

"It is an incredible honor to see Pearl earn this world record," said Vanesa Semler, who is herself a multiple world-record holder and a well-known international public figure in the luxury pet world.

"Pearl is tiny, but her personality is enormous. She brings joy to everyone who meets her. This record celebrates her uniqueness, and it also honors my beloved Miracle Milly, her predecessor, who held the same title. Pearl continues a beautiful legacy in our family, and we are proud of her in every way."

She added: "Keeping Pearl healthy and safe is my priority. She lives a completely normal, happy life — just in a much smaller size. She is a reminder that greatness can come in the tiniest packages."
