Norwich, New York, United States--A committee made up of Chenango County residents met at
Hidden Springs Brewhouse in Norwich, New York, for “Chair-ry Fest,” where they finished building the 12-feet and three-inches tall chair, which sets the world record for the
World's Largest High Chair, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"A committee made up of Chenango County residents have completed their submission for an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “Largest High Chair,” The Evening Sun reports.
"The committee, made up of John Antonowicz, Candy Boise, Cathy Glavin, Ted Guinn, and Tony Capaccio met at Hidden Springs Brewhouse on Saturday for “Chair-ry Fest,” where they finished building the 12-feet and three-inches tall chair."
"A large crowd of spectators gathered at the brewhouse as well to celebrate the record attempt, and enjoy live music and cherry-themed food and drinks,” The Evening Sun reports.
"The chair was also painted white by the committee with pink and blue accents and pink flowers. The finished piece is fully functional, complete with splayed legs to keep it sturdy and an eating tray that can be raised, just like a real high chair."
"Over 200 towns people came to see us build and construct the High Chair and cheer us on. We decided to make a High Chair as several of us are chair collectors in our town and we thought it would be neat to make a High Chair," says John J. Antonowicz in an email interview with World Record Academy.
"Our chair was constructed by five people and painted by the wife of one of the builders. One member caned the seat while others of us constructed and assembled the High Chair.".

"Our main builder, Theodore Guinn, was the in charge of the county’s weights and measurements and is certified by New York State in this capacity."
"We built the High Chair out of mostly pine wood. The it is bolted together and displays all the aspects a real High Chair would have included a moveable tray ," says John J. Antonowicz in an email interview with World Record Academy.
"The seat is caned with wicker to also reassemble a High Chair. The final height was 151 inches."
"This chair was built from wood with design plans used from an actual high chair design and then equally enlarged to be accurate for high chair purposes.
"The final height was 151 inches tall. It was certified by a New York State certified measurer," says John J. Antonowicz in an email interview with World Record Academy.
