LUNGULETU, Dâmbovița County, Romania--Dumitra Andrei, 76, also known as 'Aunt Mitza the Tractor Driver', from the village of Lungulețu, located 40 kilometers from Bucharest, transports cabbage or potatoes daily with the tractor to the market in the village, 44 years after taking her driver's license, thus setting the new world record for being the Oldest tractor driver (female), according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

She is the first woman from the village to have a driving license and for a long time she was left alone with a license. She took the license driver in 1976 to help his family with field work. That's what he does now, 44 years later, the Pro Motor reports. She has already gained the respect of the other drivers in the fair, all men.

"With congratulations, I took the driving license", confessed Aunt Mitza in an interview given to the journalists from Digi24. "It's easier on the tractor than on the car. It's very easy, I drive with one hand. "

Dumitra Andrei drove an IMS, then an ARO, which he gave to his eldest son. Then he switched to the tractor. She is currently driving a Universal 445, which pulls a huge trailer, loaded to the brim.

The old woman, slightly brought from behind and no taller than the wheel of the tractor she drives, has been beating the potato and cabbage fields in Lungulețu for almost 30 years. She says that she does not give up work even in the first place and does not understand the young people who are idle.

Aunt Mitza could have stayed home quietly. He has a CAP pension, but because she has worked all his life, she has a good financial situation. Her house is a real mansion in the village of Dâmbovița County.


"I have had this tractor for 20 years. I'm as big as a wheel. As long as God keeps me, I will not give up! ”

The GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the largest parade of Steyr tractors featured 1,338 vehicles, and was achieved by Franz Fischinger (Austria), in Weissenkirchen, Austria, on 02 July 2011. Mr. Fischinger has held this record previously.


GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS also recognized the world record for the largest parade of classic tractors; it is 1,430 and was achieved by Schlepperfreunde Auenberg e.V. (Germany), in Bad Wildungen - Odershausen, Germany, on 8 May 2016.

"As long as God keeps me, I don't give up, I like to do what I can at home, I couldn't do it as a young person, but I think I do half as much as him", says Aunt Mitza.
