Heilsbronn, Germany--ASCENDO Immersive Audio GmbH announced the next generation of its groundbreaking infrasonic subwoofers, including THE100 SUB PRO PASSIVE INFRASONIC SEALED 100-inch models, which sets the world record for the World's Largest Subwoofer, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"We're definitely getting Back To The Future vibes from this one. Germany's Ascendo Immersive Audio already lays claim to the world's most powerful subwoofer with its extraordinary 80 Sub. The 80 refers to its size – 80 inches. Now the company has dialed it up to 100," the New Atlas reports.

"The company has been producing high-end loudspeakers since 1999 – "that are valued among the best in the world for audiophile music reproduction." Amplifiers and subwoofers also form part of its product portfolio, and in 2017 Ascendo went large with a passive sub sporting a "gigantic custom-built 50-inch driver" with dual 13.5-inch voice coils.

"This model is driven by a 20-kW DSP/amp setup, can punch as low as 1 Hz and move "as much air as 40 standard 18-inch subwoofers." But the sonic wizards weren't happy to sit on their mega-sub laurels, launching the 80 Sub a few years later – "hands down the most powerful and precise cinema subwoofer in the world." Until now."

"ASCENDO Immersive Audio GmbH announced the next generation of its groundbreaking infrasonic subwoofers today, including THE64 SUB PRO PASSIVE INFRASONIC SEALED 64-inch model and THE100 SUB PRO PASSIVE INFRASONIC SEALED 100-inch models. Building on the legacy of its iconic 50-inch and 80-inch designs, these monumental woofers redefine what is possible in ultra-low-frequency reproduction," the twice.com reports.

"“We are proud to be the leader in infrasonic bass. Our continuous innovation in this category translates to an extremely high-performance, emotionally connected experience that enriches state-of-the-art home theaters and music reproduction systems with bass you can feel,” says Geoffrey Heinzel, Co-Managing Partner of ASCENDO. “These two new subwoofers are the largest in the world for home cinema, and are incredibly powerful, efficient, and fast.”

"Every aspect of these two new massive subwoofers—from motor and suspension to enclosure and damping—has been re-engineered to deliver deeper extension, greater linearity, and unparalleled sonic precision at infrasonic frequencies, including:"

The Guinness World Record for the Most powerful sub-woofer was set by an subwoofer nitially designed for the military by Danley Sound Labs (USA).

"The massive Matterhorn features 40 15-in subwoofers each powered by a 1,000-watt amplifier and housed in a 20x8x8-ft cargo container capable of reproducing bass down to 15 to 20 Hz and generating 94 db up to 250 m (820 ft)."

"Home theater specialist Ascendo Immersive Audio is a recognized pioneer of infrasonic subwoofer development, impressing the custom integration sector with its early 24, 32, 50, and even 80-inch models. Seeing global sales continuing to grow, the German company now announced THE64 Sub and THE100 Sub, which Ascendo says push the boundaries of low-frequency reproduction with advanced engineering, deeper extension, and unrivaled control," the Audio Xpress reports.

"According to Ascendo, the THE64 Sub Pro and THE100 Sub Pro noise performance has been enhanced beyond what any previous woofer design has achieved at ultra-low frequencies. An optimized, shallower compliance curve means improved linear motion and control, while a lowered driver resonance, combined with optimized enclosure dimensions, enables even lower f3 points for deeper bass extension."

"The two new 64-inch and 100-inch models replace the previous 50-inch and 80-inch SUB PRO PASSIVE INFRASONIC SEALED models, respectively. Ascendo has redesigned these for improved infrasonic performance, offering greater precision and linearity, and you guessed it, even lower bass extension," the Gear News reports.

"The upgrades also include a new suspension system, which has undergone optimization with quad spiders. This allows greater excursion across the whole frequency range. Ultra-low frequency reproduction has also been refined considerably, surpassing the capabilities of any previous subwoofer.

"In addition, there are improvements to the speaker cabinets, with a singular custom surrounding that permits the new demands of THE64 SUB PRO and THE100 SUB PRO. There are also optional application-specific enclosures for each model with upgraded internal bracing. Meanwhile, the damping materials have been optimized to decrease resonance for the ideal impulse response."

"An upgraded suspension system with quad spiders, repositioned and optimized, delivers significantly more excursion across the entire range, both linear and nonlinear. Advanced spider materials include carefully selected spider fabrics and resins, providing higher compliance and noise-free operation, even at extreme excursions," the official press release says.

"Additionally, at ultra-low frequencies, noise performance has been enhanced beyond what any previous woofer design has achieved. An optimized, shallower compliance curve means improved linear motion and control.

"Finally, lowered driver resonance, combined with optimized enclosure dimensions (outlined below), enables even lower f3 points for deeper bass extension."
