World's Largest Mountaintop Snow Fort: world record in Keystone Resort, Colorado

Keystone, Colorado, United States--The snow fort at Dercum Mountain,in Keystone Resort, Colorado, a property of the Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN), is the perfect stop before heading to a mountaintop tubing session, or is a fun way to enjoy our beautiful mountain while taking a break from the slopes; sitting at an elevation of more than 11,600 feet, with a 10,000-square-foot footprint and reaching heights of more than 30 feet tall, the snow fort sets the world record for being the World’s Largest Mountaintop Snow Fort, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"And this year, the Snow Fort returns to the top of Dercum Mountain with brand-new features and designs, including a frozen spiral slide, an ice cave, ice carvings and fun for guests of all ages," the Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) says.
"The Snow Fort is now open daily and will remain open throughout the winter season for as long as the snow lasts. The World’s Largest Mountaintop Snow Fort was constructed by Snice Carvings LLC with support from Keystone’s Snowmaking and Mountain Operations department. The fort took approximately two weeks to construct."

"Led by playground pro, Keith Martin, alongside his team from Snice Carvings, the team assembled the massive fort in approximately two weeks. Martin and his team have been building the snow fort at Keystone for ten years now and says he looks forward to it every year.
"The sculpting team partners with Keystone’s Snowmaking and Mountain operations to create a one-of-a-kind experience for all ages to enjoy. A new design is created every year, making each build a new fun challenge and experience."

"Visiting the snow fort is free for all with a mountain access pass. While this includes a lift ticket for skiing, it can also come in the form of a scenic gondola ticket or a ticket for mountain top tubing.
