Eagle River

Eagle River is a city in Vilas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,398 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Vilas County. Because of the many lakes in the area, the city is a popular vacation and retirement destination.

Common recreational activities include boating, camping, fishing, swimming, hunting, golfing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. Bald eagles can be viewed here, the source of the name "Eagle" River.

"A 'shotski', as it’s called, involves several shot glasses placed equidistant apart across the deck of a discarded downhill ski, allowing several folks to concurrently down a shot. Shotskis are the sizzling fajitas of the barroom—you can’t help but notice when someone orders one, the Punch reports.

A shotski, or shot-ski, is a ski with shot glasses glued to it. Revelers, by lining up alongside it and tipping it back together, can take a shot a the exact same moment.

They can also chant in unison, "Shot-sk! Shot-ski! Shot-ski!" before, during, and after the liquor is shot.

"When asked if this could be an annual event, Rick Reimer said that it is, but different locations may need to be considered in the future. Jeff Hyslop, the Mayor of Eagle City, said the event will be re-evaluated afterward to see if it’s a good fit for the city.

"It was brought up that this event is a fundraiser for the community and is not meant to be a revenue generator for their business."

The event was approved to host the event contingent on the driveways for Yeti’s and Trig’s can stay open. It is also subject to agreement with the US Forest Service office and under the approval of the Eagle River Chief of Police at the time of the event.
